Welcome Note by the Department- HOD.

In today’s fast-changing world with ever-growing challenges of limited resources and rapid climate changes, a new generation of Mechanical Engineers nurtured with necessary skills and innovative spirit is needed. Our attempt is to provide to the students with a cheerful, productive and satisfying experience at all levels of their programme of studies so that they can explore the amazing world of Mechanical Engineering.

The department has well qualified and dedicated faculty. The department strives to impart knowledge and training of the highest standard. The objective of the department is to prepare students for a successful career in any Industry, Research and Academics to meet the needs of growing technology. Our efforts are to develop the ability among students to synthesize data and technical concepts for application to product design. We provide an opportunity for students to work as members of a team on multidisciplinary projects. Mechanical engineering department provides students with a sound foundation in the mathematical, scientific and engineering fundamentals are necessary to formulate, solve and analyze engineering problems and to prepare them for higher studies as well as research. We promote student awareness for life-long learning and to introduce them to professional ethics and codes.

For the overall development of the students; department of mechanical engineering is associated with memberships of professional bodies such as SAE, ISTE, IEEE-RAS . We formulated a Mechanical Engineering Students association i.e Mechanical Engineering Association (MEA). Various activities of these chapters provide student to gain knowledge and interact with students and staff of other colleges/universities as well as Industry Experts. Students have taken part in various competitions and won International Level top positions in top 10 position competitions like Dassault Systems project of the year in 2020 and 2021.

Students showcase their talent in various sports and intercollegiate technical events and bag prizes.

Our graduates are working in Multinational Companies, Defence Services, and Academic Institutions in India and abroad. Last but not least our Technical supporting staff are experienced and skilled. Students, as well as visitors, find them very friendly, amicable and highly intelligent!

  • COMMUNICATION: – Communicate effectively on complex engineering activities with the engineering community and with society at large, such as, being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions.
  • PROJECT MANAGEMENT AND FINANCE: – Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the engineering and management principles and apply these to one’s own work, as a member and leader in a team, to manage projects and in multidisciplinary environments.
  • LIFE-LONG LEARNING: – Recognize the need for, and have the preparation and ability to engage in independent and life-long learning in the broadest context of technological change.

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

The Mechanical Engineers find jobs in PSUs and private industries such as automotive, aerospace, R&D, construction and defence where they are required to design, test, manufacture, install, operate and maintain a wide array of machines and mechanical systems.

Nowadays the scope of mechanical engineering is expanding beyond its traditional boundaries. Mechanical engineers are focussing their attention towards new areas of research such as nanotechnology, development of composite materials, biomedical applications, environmental conservation, etc.
